Even though a newcomer into the smartphone industry, Realme has been successfully churning one successful device after the other and got a solid impression in the market. Realme X50 Pro 5G is no exception to this trend and launched as the first Snapdragon 865 powered phone in the market with almost the best specs possible. Realme X50 Pro 5G is a solid device and let’s see how it compares against the Oneplus 8.

Performance: Realme X50 Pro 5G

Oneplus 8 and Realme X50 Pro come with Qualcomm’s latest, greatest and fastest processor, Snapdragon 865, available in the market for android phones. While both of them come with the fastest storage option UFS 3.0, Oneplus 8 comes with the older generation LPDDR4X RAM technology while Realme X50 Pro comes with the latest LPDDR5 RAM technology which offers almost 30% better performance.

Even though it is very difficult to spot the difference in the performance of both the devices, I give it to Realme for offering the latest and fastest RAM technology (LPDDR5 vs LPDDR4X)

Display: Tie

You know Realme and Oneplus are sister companies and it might be true that both of them are using the same screen from the same manufacturer. They both offer AMOLED displays and offer a 90Hz refresh rate for that silky smooth scrolling experience.

If you prefer a curved screen, then Oneplus 8 is your choice, but I personally like the flat screen of Realme X50 Pro for their usability.

Camera: Realme X50 Pro

The camera department is the major difference you can see between Realme X50 Pro and Oneplus 8. In perfect daylight, both offer similar levels of performance and you can expect stunning picture quality. But, Realme X50 Pro has one trick up to its sleeves and that is its 20X Telephoto lens. There is no comparison between these two phones and Realme X50 Pro beats Oneplus 8 hands down in zooming capabilities and quality of the pics.

Another area where Realme X50 Pro shines is in the selfie department. Realme X50 Pro offers the best selfie setup, 32MP + 8MP out there, and offers superior performance against 16MP selfie shooter of Oneplus 8.

Oneplus 8 for night shots and OIS, for rest everything, it is Realme X50 Pro that offers superior camera experience.

Design: Realme X50 Pro

Both smartphones offer glass construction front and back with Gorilla Glass 5. While Oneplus 8 is a fingerprint magnet, Realme X50 Pro offers a matte finish and it is easily one of the best-looking smartphones in recent days with two finest colors of Moss Green and Rust Red.

Pick Oneplus 8 if you want a slimmer and lighter device, but Realme X50 Pro looks different and my personal pick.

Battery: Realme X50 Pro

Both offer similar-sized batteries and offer similar levels of endurance as well with 7 hrs of screen on time. But, Realme X50 Pro trumps Oneplus 8 again with its 65W fast charging solution against 30W offered by Oneplus.

You shouldn’t miss 65W fast charging of Realme X50 Pro.

Another two important areas of smartphone experience are Sound and Software. Both smartphones offer Dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and sounds amazing well. It is hard to differentiate between both of them quality is topnotch by smartphone standards.

While OS is a personal choice, but I prefer Oxygen OS in Oneplus 8 because of its almost stock look and blazing fast performance. You can’t go wrong with Realme OS either.

Verdict: Realme X50 Pro 5G is Winner

Realme X50 Pro offers slightly better experience overall and our winner in this comparison. It offers the best design, better performance, better camera while saving almost Rs.4000. You definitely can’t wrong with Oneplus 8 and it offers one of the best smartphone experience in the market as well, but I’m a value for money seeker and always tries to get the best bang for the buck and it is Realme X50 Pro.

Realme X50 Pro offers the best bang for the buck. Period.
